How do you know that it is time to replace your mattress? What are the things you need to take note of when looking for a new one? What is the criteria for a good mattress?
The basics to mattress buying and owning. You should know these by heart when shopping for mattresses.
1. A good time to buy or replace is when your mattress is already 8 to 10 years old. By then, your old mattress would be filled with unknown species, it will actually feel heavy or you may start getting a bad back because of it. You could start waking up feeling more lethargic than well-rested and the longer you put up with an old mattress, the worse it will be for your body.
2. A firm mattress doesn’t always mean it’s the better mattress. Likewise, a soft mattress isn’t always an indication that it will be the most comfortable for you. It’s also the same for expensive brands and high-end features. That cashmere covering may sound tempting, but it may not be what you require. Your body is you best gauge to what feels comfortable. So when shopping, always test the merchandise before making a choice.
3. Do your research on the products before doing your purchase. Don’t be convinced by just actual sales talk, you have to know what your buying, and better if you can also find out about the store’s return policy and discounts, if there are any. You’re going to invest in a piece that should last you for years and years, that you should be buying something well-worth your money.
