0 Comments Published by Lilian August 20th, 2008 in MATTRESS Shopping.
One of the leaders in mattress and bedding manufacturing has partnered with one of the big names in futon making.
Simmons and Big Tree have sought an agreement that would push forward better futons and other bedding needs with Big Sleep. This means that eventually, mattresses by Simmons, such as Beautyrest, will have its futon version because of this partnership.
Currently, Big Sleep has already began offering tufted futon mattresses, much like those designed for Simmons and very different from regular futons.

JC Penney’s Mattress Comparison Chart
0 Comments Published by Lilian August 17th, 2008 in MATTRESS Shopping.JC Penney is making it easier for shoppers to choose the mattress they want by coming up with a Mattress Comparison Chart. It features three categories of mattresses — firm, plush, pillow or euro top and outlines which one are best choices.
The chart carries only a few known brands like Sealy, Simmons, Serta and Spring Air though but at least it is a good way to help shoppers narrow down their choices.
Check the comparison chart here.

Green Guide From Simmons and Danny Seo
0 Comments Published by Lilian August 2nd, 2008 in MATTRESS News, MATTRESS Organic, MATTRESS Safety.Simmons mattress together with green guru Danny Seo has come up with this “Green Guide to a Healthier Bedroom” which was made available when the latter released his latest mattress line collection.
Among the important points to this green guide are outlined below:
Mattress: Look for alternatives that contain fewer synthetic and petroleum-based components. The Natural Care™ collection features latex foam made in part from biodegradable materials like rubber tree sap and a layer of base foam enhanced with soy.
Bed Frame: Instead of buying a brand new headboard, try shopping at a flea market or antique mall or give your old bed a new personality with a coat of paint.
Pillow: Check out naturally-derived latex options like the Natural Care™ pillow. In addition to being comfortable and supportive, it is hypoallergenic and inherently resistant to dust mites, mold and mildew.
Sheets: Consider linens made from sustainable fabrics and know there is an eco-option to complement every season. Try organic cotton in spring, hemp in summer and organic flannel in winter.
Comforter: Snuggle under a cotton filled comforter rather than feather down. Although both are insulating, cotton is easily laundered in the washing machine, which helps remove allergens.
If you would like to get a copy of this helpful guide, it’s available for download at Simmons or you can also visit Natural Care Bed.
