Rock Platform Bed With Storage
0 Comments Published by Lilian July 21st, 2008 in MATTRESS Kids, MATTRESS Shopping.
My personal choice when it comes to buying bed furniture is practicality and usefulness, which is why I would much rather prefer a very basic-looking platform bed frame my family can grow into.
This one, from Collegiate Furnishing, requires no box spring and the extra space below is good storage space. Plus factor on sturdiness and durability…which makes it a really good choice for young adults heading off to university.
The Rock Platform Bed judiciously combines coziness with strength. This bed frame consists of a flat wooden platform supported on four ‘rock-solid’ legs, reinforced with dual tapered uprights. The mattress is placed directly on the bed, eliminating the use of a foundation or box spring. Rock platform beds are made of top quality, unfinished wood, adding a rustic look and making the Rock a true price value. The yellow pine wood used to construct the Rock Bed retains the strength of oak, while being much more cost effective and environment friendly.

I’d normally see platform beds made of wood or wood covered in leather. I would have never imagined one made of…concrete. And I don’t think this is actually a bad idea. If you want flat, then what’s more even than concrete? The base though may also be made of wood or polished metal.
But for this type of bed, though…there will be no moving around the furniture a lot. Once it’s there in that corner of the bedroom….it will be there for a long time.

Simply put…it’s a mild bed. You need not wonder why. It just looks so simplistic and clean. Constructed in wood and metal frame, and a leg base made of chrome, the whole bed is surrounded with foam wrappings and may be covered with either vinyl, leather or fabric.

A queen bed made of solid oak veneer with a rich dark walnut finish, the Milano bed frame, provides utmost support after a stressful day. With bed legs that look like big wide blocks and a wooden slat that allows for a mattress with or without box springs, the bed frame is sturdy yet accommodating.
Priced at $1,040 (Queen) and $1290 (King).

The best place to incorporate this platform bed cum bookshelf is in the guest room/office.
If you have visitors sleeping over and the only available room is your home-office, with this innovative idea, I’m quite sure they will find your hospitality and graciousness worth remembering.
How do you turn a bookshelf into a comfortable sleeping space? DIYNetwork carries this how-to guide.
It is quite an innovative idea although, it is a bit raised than a usual bed.
