Godrej & Boyce, more familiar as manufacturer of top quality home products, is entering into mattress manufacturing with its frist rubberized latex and spring mattress, the Godreh Mattress. This new product is pitched as being stain free and the company also plans to introduce a comfort indicator for consumers to better choose their mattress range.

BHUBANESWAR: Godrej & Boyce, a part of the Godrej Group, announced its foray into the mattress industry here, with a comprehensive range of rubberised coir, spring and latex mattresses under the brand name of ‘Godrej Mattress.’

The company plans to corner 30 percent of the Rs 4,400-crore mattress market with the launch and subsequently be a market leader, said deputy general manager of the company’s market development interio division Jay Mitra while unveiling the products.

The launch coincides with the introduction of ‘Godrej comfort indicator’ which will help a customer choose the right mattress as per his choice of comfort. The comfort indicator is divided into softness (cushion) and firmness (support) for the entire range.

The other high point of the mattresses, he said, is that they are stain-free. Prices would range from Rs 200 to 1100 per square foot. Head, sales and services (interio), C S N Murty was present.
