Shopping for a Platform Bed Mattress
1 Comment Published by Lilian July 21st, 2008 in MATTRESS Shopping.
Unlike traditional mattresses that are enclosed in box springs, a platform bed mattress has a slightly different composition. According to Better Sleep Org, they are “firmer” but “less resilient”.
Comfortability has to be taken greatly into account when selecting the right platform bed mattress. Testing out each platform bed mattress whenever possible is the best way to determine if it’s the kind you actually have to buy. When checking, examine or feel whether it’s the right amount of firmness or softness you want from a mattress.
And while comfort is very important, you also need to choose a platform bed mattress that exactly fits the size of your bed frame. Right sizing is important as it can directly have an effect on comfort level as well as durability.
The third but also important factor is the mattress’ features. With the latest innovation in mattress manufacturing today, choosing the best one will undoubtedly be overwhelming. Ask the salesperson about the products you have tried. Inquire of its features and make to have a more informed choice.

The best person to tell you if you need a new mattress is none other than yourself. Here’s a checklist to determine whether or not it’s time for a replacement.
- Is your mattress more than 8 years old?
- Are you still feeling comfortable with your current mattress?
- Do you wake up feeling all kinds of aches and pain in your body?
- Do you wake up tired, rather than rejuvenated?
- Does your body have numbness in the shoulder area when you wake up?
- Do you have trouble getting to sleep because of too much fidgeting in bed?
- Does your mattress have lumps? Uneven surface? Holes? Torn stitching?
- Are you becoming more and more allergic?
- Are you bothered when your partner moves on the bed?
Mattress replacement may be too much of a drastic decision. If you answered yes to three questions, you could consider buying a topper or a protector, instead of replacing the set completely.

Sharon Osbourne King-Size Bed Lawsuit
0 Comments Published by Lilian October 23rd, 2007 in MATTRESS News. Some celebrity news….as they do sleep, you know. They sleep in the lap of luxury with their affluent lifestyles, in fact! But is it a lifestyle so expensive that Sharon Osbourne allegedly wasn’t able to pay for her custom built bed? Going through the report, the news actually isn’t as horrid as it seems.
Sharon Osbourne is facing a $26,000 lawsuit over a king-size bed.
Sharon is being sued for breach of contract, fraud and deceit by California’s Beyond Pillows Etc design store who claim she never paid for the custom-made bed delivered to her Hidden Hills mansion earlier this month.
The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court Thursday, says Sharon signed an agreement on October 3 to buy the bed, along with customized curtains for her bathroom and kitchen.
The suit also claims, “Sharon Osbourne didn’t have sufficient funds to cover the payment but accepted delivery and installation and never had any intention of paying.”
Beyond Pillows Etc interior decorator Cheryl Law alleges Sharon’s credit card only covered part of the cost and she hasn’t settled the remainder.
A representative for Sharon says she gave Law her credit card details when she ordered the items, but Law said the payment had been rejected because it was a UK credit card.
The 55-year-old reality TV judge allegedly offered to pay with another credit card, but the following day, Law claimed it had also been rejected.
Sharon’s representative added that when she checked her bank statements, both transactions had gone through - meaning she had been charged twice for the items.
When Sharon noticed the error, she claims she contacted Beyond Pillows Etc who sent her a cheque.
