Eddie Bauer Air Mattress Review

by Lilian on Monday, October 15th, 2007

The Eddie Bauer air mattress is one of the more preferred choices by consumers. It offers the following features:

* Battery-operated integral pump for fast, easy inflation
* Pump reversal for quick deflation
* Sueded top with durable PVC bottom; colors may vary
* Includes nylon carry bag and built-in pillow
* Requires 4 D-cell batteries

And below is a videopinion of a consumer who has tried it:

    I purchased one of these Eddie Bauer units from Target. I took four tries to find one that actually retained air.

    In other words, I had to make four trips to Target (22 miles RT) to find one mattress that held air.

    Then, that product only lasted three months before it could no longer air, and appeared to have no leaks in the material.

    Another big problem is that these mattresses are short on both advertised length and width by two inches each way. Thus, fitted Queen sheets fit kind of sloppily.

    Actually measurement inflated (even though temporary inflation which will not last for a night’s slleep) dimensions are 56.5″ width by 77.5″ length – hardly what is claimed on the box.

    This is not an Eddie Bauer product. Only the name is paid for by Target to sell this junk. Careful on their vacuum cleaners as models are made to cheaper specifications that full brand names in order to sell for less but with less features and quaility.

    Like Costco and other con artist mass merchandisers, check model numbers and you will see slight differences such as less features.

    We purchased the full size version of this mattress in August ‘08. By December one row of the “x coils” had separated, creating a bulge across the end of the mattress. Now, it won’t hold air at all.

    I bought it because I thought the Eddie Bauer name meant quality. Hopefully, since it is only 5 months old, I can get it replaced or my money back. *If* I can find the receipt.
