Correcting mattress firmness/softness
Found more of these great ideas to temporary correct your sleeping dilemmas because of the type of mattress you currently have. I think these suggestions are easy to follow.
CORRECTING FIRM MATTRESSES
If your bed is too firm, use a rolled towel, a commercial night roll, or a mattress overlay to soften the surface and add support for your torso’s curves. Remember - sleep supports should conform to your natural spinal curves, not exaggerate them.
A lumbar sleep support or mattress overlay can correct a too-firm mattress. People with greater body curves (i.e., narrow waist with broad shoulders or hips) need softer, more contouring sleep systems. Those with similar shoulder, waist, and hip circumferences need less contouring or softness. Heavier people usually prefer a firmer mattress. Lighter people prefer a softer mattress.
CORRECTING SOFT MATTRESSES
A sagging bed provides poor support and bends your back into uncomfortable positions. You can attempt to correct a sagging innerspring mattress by placing a plywood board or a commercial bed board between the mattress and box spring. Or put your top mattress on a rigid box or lattice foundation. To correct a sagging water or air bed, add more water or air.
