The mattress company which first reinvented the way people shop for mattresses is now introducing another first by offering customers the change to “test nap” any mattress for a 30-minute nap in over 46 local stores.

“Whether it is luxury cars, designer handbags, jewelry or other luxury purchases, there is a trial period to ensure synergy between customer and product. Sleep is the ultimate luxury, which impacts health, mood, productivity, etc. It seemed essential to offer ‘Test Naps’ on the products that our customers will spend approximately 1/3 of their life on. Approximately 50-percent of our customers want to lie on a mattress before they make a purchasing decision and this program takes that concept one step further. The ‘Test Nap’ will ensure that the mattress and consumer is a match made in slumber,” this is according to John O’Connell of 1800Mattress.Com.

Customers who wish to test nap, are encouraged to bring their own pillows and blankets to the showroom. Sleep consultants from the store will be there to assist them.

I personally think this is a great service. I wonder though, how many times can you test nap a mattress? I mean if you did not enjoy the first 30 minutes on one mattress, can you come back and do another one on a different type? And will a customer be willing to test nap on a mattress that has been slept on before him or her?
