You need more care for futon mattresses

by Lilian on Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

images In considering buying a futon mattress, take into account that this isn’t like standard or regular mattresses we commonly find in stores.

A futon mattress requires extra care, because it’s a double purpose bed. It’s one made as lightweight as possible because it’s folded as a sofa seater. Hence, it’s twice as susceptible to wear and tear. The thickest a futon mattress gets is about 10 inches and nothing more.

Airing out and turning futon mattresses must be regular for maintenance and to keep it in the best shape. Vacuuming is also necessary to keep it fresh and clean. Nobody wants to sleep in a dirty mattress.

To keep your futon mattress protected, invest in a really good mattress topper for it. This way, the futon will last you years and years of comfort.
