The makers of the Akva Waterbeds claim to have manufactured the one mattress with therapeutic benefits, with its F0-F8 options:

The F0 - F8 options below relate to the movement/stabilization of the mattress.

• F stands for fibre and 0 - 8 relates to the number of layers used.
• F0 has no restrictions in movement (and equates to a free flow, for those of you who know a little about waterbeds!)
• F8 is the most stabilized mattress we do and feels much more like gel than water. It responds very slowly to body movement.

There are three types of Akva Waterbeds —- All-Around, Deco and Soft. All of these may be tried in-store, only Akva is located in Bristow and Marlow in the UK.
