About Box Springs
Published by Lilian June 8th, 2008 in MATTRESS Shopping.
With a box spring, the most commonly used construction is of wood material. Along with it are bars and metal struts that make up the insides of the mattress. The spring serves as shock absorber and prevents sagging of the mattress. And it used to be the preferred mattress several years ago. But now box springs are becoming less and less popular, with the arrival of more advanced foam mattresses.
With today’s box spring model, some changes and improvements have been done. Models usually have innersprings covered in high density foam.
Box springs come in two pieces, especially with king sized mattress.
