Over time, futon designs have changed. Many of these have become more stylish and contemporary while still affordable. There are even futons today that are made using better insulated cushions that help the sleeper warm during cold nights.

A lot of people prefer futons because it feels good for the back. Futons beds are made firmer because of the slats. Futon mattresses are also a couple more inches thicker than normal.

The practical futon may also be a couch, which eliminates the need to have other furniture in the house. Many futons are also very easy to maintain which is why it’s so ideal for people living in fast paced environments.

No-nonsense design, affordable, comfortable and practical — these are the basic strengths of a futon mattress.
