Therapedic Designer Offer Price Cut On New Line of Mattress
Kathy Ireland, designer of Therapedic mattress is offering a more competitive price package for her ACafe line of bedding, which launched last January.
“I want everyone to be able to buy my products. I don’t want any mom not to be able to afford this bedding.” Ireland has been quoted as saying this.
The price for the mattress line is dropped from $699 to around $399-$499.
In an interview with Furniture Today, Ireland said, “It’s so important we have the opening price points, so that we give her selection. She wants choices. At different times in her life she can spend different amounts of money.”
Beds in the ACafe line feature cappuccino-colored covers, helping them stand out on retail floors that are usually awash in white, Borreggine noted. He also said the line is well positioned for the tough retail climate.”The timing is perfect,” he said. “Business is slow and a promotionally priced collection of mattresses is exactly what retailers are asking for to spur business at this time. ACafe has the look and feel of high-end bedding, but it’s priced at the retail sweet spots of $399–$499, $599 and $699.”
Therapedic will show the ACafe line in its space at the Tupelo Furniture Market this week, but not the J du J products. Both lines will be on display in the company’s Bedding Center showroom at the High Point Market in April.
