The Miracle Mattress

This Miracle Mattress claims to have detoxification and therapeutic effects since it emits magnetic fields which supposedly help the body…and your blood flow, I guess. The video ad isn’t as comprehensive. Watch it yourself here.

Consumers aren’t easily fooled though, based on these reactions.

AB-SO-LUTE marketing bullsh*t. 50 Hz Magnetic field? We already have that pretty much everywhere we go. Notice all those electric wires all around? Well guess what, the current in all of them is also 50hz, and they all generate a magnetic field, that can be quite strong in places. Oh and it’s got nothing whatsoever to do with solar waves, which are actually in a much broader spectrum. My guess is it’s just a by-product of the electical heating, which they put a clever spin on.

Heated mattresses can also be a hazard for people with blood circulation problems, especially in the legs.

Well it will be a nice marketing feat if they actually manage to sell it.

The best thing you can lie down on is a 100% cotton futon so thick you can’t fold it. Them things are dangerous though, because once you lie down on one, you don’t want to ever get up.

I agree, absolute woo-woo bullsh*t. If magnets in bed mattresses, bracelets, and necklaces could really increase blood flow, relax muscles and all the other ridiculous claims they make for them, when they are about 5 Gauss total, then by all accounts anyone getting an MRI at 15,000 Gauss should explode messily all over the radiology department!
