As part of the perks given to its workers, Google apparently provides sleep pods for thousands of its employees at its offices in Mountain View, California. Because of the demanding work that Google employees perform, they are encouraged to take breaks and sleep or rest on the pods to de-stress and recharge.
These pods don’t come cheap, as some can go for about $10,000 to $12,00 each. But rather than opting for beds with a traditional mattress, these pods supposedly provide better support for the body, its muscles and bones, allow for de-stressing to take place even more effectively. The pods are also equipped with speakers and music to help the person using it cope with stress better. Given the scenario, it does seem like pods are better than actual beds, wouldn’t you agree?
Many more companies, apart from Google in fact, are considering the idea of setting up sleep pods for their workers, believing that it would help with productivity. Employees get the much-needed recharge from using the pods, which makes for a worthy company investment in the long run.
