Serta Counting Sheep is Icon of the Year Nominee
The Serta Sheep, a icon familiar to consumers, has been nominated for Icon of the Year at the Madison Avenue Advertising Walk of Fame in the annual Advertising Week held in New York. This is an event that takes place among advertisers and media people all over America.
The winner of the said award will be determined by votes. You can actually cast this via Vote Serta Sheep. Votes may be cast until Sept. 19th
Serta introduced the Counting Sheep as the reluctant brand icon in 2000. Since the launch, Serta has seen significant increases in brand awareness and retail sales that has driven consumer demand for more airtime with the furry little creatures. The campaign earned Serta the Gold EFFIE and Silver ADDY awards and appeared in more than 20 countries, extending Serta’s global brand reach.
“Everything we do at Serta serves towards the goal of growing our retailers’ business,” says Andrew Gross, Senior VP of Marketing for Serta. “The Counting Sheep are part of Serta’s extraordinary brand power. Consumers love our icon, so our national advertising gives our retail partners the local advertising leverage they need to drive more traffic to their stores.”
Advertising week will commence on Sept. 22.
