Select Comfort Pushes Cheaper Mattress Line

by Lilian on Sunday, December 7th, 2008

select_comfort_logo Because sales have been declining in the whole industry, Select Comfort is now pushing their less expensive mattress line in order to remain competitive in the market.

These mattresses are priced less than $1000, compared to Select Comfort’s more popular product lines like the Sleep Number, which retails between $2,000 to $3,500.

The Plymouth-based bed manufacturer and retailer, best known for its Sleep Number mattresses, is marketing a queen-sized mattress set for just less than $1,000 as part of a broader effort to improve its price competitiveness after years of focusing on the premium-mattress market. Select Comfort’s average mattress sells for more than $1,900 at company-owned stores, up 11 percent from a year ago.
