Sealy’s Green Island For Hotels

According to this news, Sealy Corporation will begin introducing a new line of Sealy Posturepedic Convertible Collection for hotel rooms. These new mattresses will be green-based or eco-friendly and will  also have interesting new features.

Sealy is introducing a new line of mattresses — which will be produced in Green Island starting this week — that have removable pillowtops, the ultra-soft tops found on some mattresses. These tops aren’t removable from typical mattresses.

However, Sealy is starting a new Sealy Posturepedic Convertible Collection that uses Velcro to allow hotels to remove, rotate or replace the pillowtops.

This is considered a “green” product that helps to save the environment because a typical mattress might have to be replaced every five to seven years. Now, only the pillowtop needs to be replaced.

That will let hotels cut the number of mattresses it throws out in half over a 15-year period.
