Move over memory foam mattress. It seems that gel beds will be slowly taking over the market demands, as observed in a recent mattress exhibit in Las Vegas.
More companies are jumping the bandwagon, producing beds fitted with this gel like material which is said to be more body conforming and cooler to sleep on than a memory foam. Brands like Restonic, Therapedic, Jamison, South Bay have introduced their new gel beds, and it looks like more mainstream brands like Simmons, Serta and even Natura are following suit.
There’s a lot of buzz about this gel-like material and on the business aspect of things, this is a good sign as it provides consumers with another choice and there’s a new product manufacturers can get really excited about. In terms of specialty sleep, this definitely creates a new dynamic for the industry.
These gel beds are pegged at around $1,000 to $2,000 as starting price.
Companies are said to already be getting trademark, patents and rights to names they will use to call their gel bed products.
