This is good news to hoteliers and people who enjoy staying at hotels.  If the bed in which you lie on, and from which all other people lie on, is from Mattress Safe® — it has just been recently accredited to be bed bug resistant:

A “Bite Test” and a “Penetration and Escape Test” were performed on Mattress Safe’s “Ultimate” Zippered Encasement by a certified entomologist to 1.) determine whether the bed bugs can actively feed through the fabric of the encasement and 2.) to discover whether the mattress encasement can be used as part of a bed bug exclusion or inclusion process.
