Man is fined and asked to clean up for illegal mattress dumping

$750 was fined from a man who dumped around 60 mattresses (60 mattresses!!!) by a roadside in Minto Heights in Campbelltown on the land down under. The town council also ordered him to clean-up what he left there. The mayor has been a staunch advocate of these illegal dumping following one that recently took place in another part of town. In fact, the town has beefed up garbage and recycling efforts weekly, in order to limit or completely remove incidents such as this. Not only are these illegal dumps unsightly, it also increases the number of environmental hazards to the community.
