The funny thing is people do not know how to properly dispose of mattresses. They turn up in some of the most unusual places — by the road, by dumpsters, in the lake…the bottom of the lake. They are handed down from families to families, never mind if they are rather out of form.  These types of mattresses are very harmful to you, to the environment and especially to children. People have to realize that mattresses only last up to certain number of years. When it’s time to get rid of it, one really has to really purge it from existence.  

What you can do though is:

Be responsible. Get rid of your old mattresses properly.
