Is getting your dog its own mattress essential?

Establishing a sleeping habit for your new pet dog should be dealt with from the beginning, particularly when you have a pup that will grow into 150 lbs in a few more months. Sure, they appear to be snuggly in bed and it’s great to have the company. But you will not want your dog to be sleeping on the bed with you all the time.

For one thing, dogs may be the cause of your mattress immediately becoming susceptible to bed bugs and other allergens. Because dogs shed hair and has been to many areas on foot, indoors and outdoors, naturally, they carry a substantial amount of dirt when they climb on bed with you.

For another thing, teaching your pets to respect personal spaces renders him discipline and as a responsible pet owner, you would have to want a dog like that. Having his own sleeping space allows him to curl up, prattle on it or relax and sleep. Just like humans.

Dog beds come in all shapes, size, style and design. Some are even therapeutic, which best works for older dogs with joint problems….again, just like humans.

Providing your pets their own personal space works two ways — for the dog and the master. Consider buying your dog his own bed the next time you find yourself cuddling with the pooch, ticks, dog hair, drool and all.
