Everybody loves a bargain and as Consumer Reports say, about 90% of the time, haggling for discounts happen when a consumer is buying home furnishing, electronics or appliances. And you wonder, how come you haven’t done it? Here are some tips, the next time you step into a Mattress Store:
Shyness is a disadvantage. How can you negotiate if you feel shy? It’s not about enforcing yourself on someone, it is about negotiation.
Negotiate with a smile on your face. That should be hard to resist.
Deal with the person in power. Ask a discount from the mattress store manager.
But deal from the position of power. Indicate that you can give the same offer at another store, a competitor. Store managers wlll think twice, because they will surely want you to come back and provide repeat business.
