Tatami mats are Japanese woven straws used mainly by richer Japanese as to keep their floors cleaner.  Traditionally, tatami mats are in itself ideal sleeping space, like this bed. For those not used to sleeping on the flat surface though, you can throw in a mattress on top of it, which makes for a very light and comfy bed.
