Fix for a Squeaky Mattress

by Lilian on Tuesday, October 13th, 2009

images2Still not rid of your old box spring mattress? Is the noise bothering you in your sleep? If you aren’t planning on buying a new one at the moment, then there is a quick fix to this. Here’s an advise from Good Housekeeping:

First, check the frame for loose fittings that may need to be tightened or reglued. If the frame is metal, apply a commercial lubricant to the rivets. To quiet squeaks that come from a particular slat, wrap a thin piece of cloth around the end that attaches to the frame. This may lessen the noise. If these tricks don’t work, call an antiques restorer; he may be able to help you solve the problem.
