Velcro Mattress, more familiar to residents and consumers in the MidWest, is celebrating fifty years this week.The store, which opened its doors in 1958, is founded by Dale Williams, a furniture dealer and his childhood friend Guy Day. They named their business after their wives — Verna and Lois. What started as a partnership between childhood friends has grown into a big company with spread across 10 states in 6o stores.

The company specializes in customized quality and has been tapped by many lifestyle television shows including Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

The company has its main business office in Fort Atkinson, Wis. and franchise opportunities are open for anyone interested.
