Not putting a cover on the mattress will eventually reduce the mattress’ usability and performance. This is something you shouldn’t scrimp on and there are plenty of affordable mattress cover available.

Ikea’s SUVERÄN cover, for example, is about $24.99, a good investment for something you really need to protect. This mattress cover is washable, so cleaning it as needed is easy to do.
