Admittedly, some parents allow their babies and toddler to sleep on the playpen out of convenience. But doing so may actually posts some risk. A playpen doesn’t have the right kind of mattress to support the child, more so, it’s surface is built for something else other than sleeping.
If a child does fall asleep on it, make sure that the playpen is built safely and the surrounding environment is free from strings that could tangle the baby or boxes that the child may use to step over it and fall off the pen.
