Air Mattress Dangerous To Infants
This Christmas, a family may either be visiting relatives or are entertaining them at home. Sleeping areas would have to be prepared. And if you have an infant with you, parents should keep in mind not to put babies on an air mattress. This is a warning set by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, which have recorded at least 16 infant deaths on an air mattress. It’s definitely not a bed that is safe for babies.
Since 2002, CPSC has received reports of 16 deaths, mostly in infants younger than 8 months, who were placed to sleep on air mattresses. Eleven suffocated in a face-down position on an air mattress and five died due to suffocation after falling into gaps between a mattress and a bed frame or wall.
