This seems like a hopeful venture for people suffering from pressure ulcers, otherwise known as bed sores:
A new wound-therapy mattress that senses patient movement and adjusts to redistribute pressure will make its debut Thursday, Hillenbrand Industries said.
The E700 Wound Surface, manufactured and marketed by Hillenbrand’s Hill-Rom Co., is designed for patients with pressure ulcers, also known as bed sores, according to a news release. It features a sensor that monitors the patient in real time, and adjusts as the patient sleeps, turns, sits up or gets in and out of bed. It also has fabrics that provide airflow beneath the patient and minimize friction, bed exit alarms and features that help caregivers position the patient in bed.
At daytime, it is a bookcase that provides shelf space for a very small room. At night, the mattress sections of the bookcase are laid down the floor and held by slots to form a bed for two.
This is a great design solution for homes with limited space. This is an idea from designer Karen Babel.
October is National Chiropractic Month and one of things everyone needs to recognize, based from the American Chiropractic Association (ACA) is that we need to be conscious of the mattresses and pillows we sleep on.
A 2006 study published in the Journal of Chiropractic Medicine showed that sleeping on a new mattress can significantly reduce stiffness and back pain. Researchers found that study participants reported immediate and sustained benefits after sleeping on a new mattress. This was especially true of participants who entered the study with back pain complaints, as they reported a 63 percent improvement in back discomfort with a new mattress.
A sheet set has the following: flat sheet, fitted sheet and a pair of pillow cases. If you’re buying a twin set, you will only find one pillow case. A standard sheet fits a 12″ deep mattress. If you want a deeper fit, opt for the 15″ or 18″.
Before buying your sheets: Know your bed’s measurement. Have an idea about what thread count is.
To hide box springs, which may become a possible decorating eyesore, accessorize with a bed skirt in colorful and bright patterns or a style to match your preference. But before you head to the store and buy your bed skirt set, here are some things you should take note of first:Know the length, width and the distance of your mattress from the floor to the box spring’s top. Bed skirts usually are standard 15″ in length but you might be needing something deeper. Color brightens up the room, but using light colors for bed skirts may still allow the box springs to seep through the light, then it would be no use covering it. Use chenille or velvet so the skirt won’t look heavy. With it, you can use light colored velvets Coordinate the fabric and colors you choose to the whole look of the room

Winter is fast approaching and in due time, you would have to change your sheets, blankets and comforters to keep warm during this season. The right kind of beddings will be a factor to how you achieve comfort while sleeping.
In winter time, beddings made of fleece or wool are best recommended. They absorb heat and thus keep you warm. If you have the capacity to splurge, silk and satin make the best beddings, too. They give the room style and elegance and silk is safe for those who suffer from winter allergies since it is hypoallergenic. Cotton beddings are not useful during cold weathers because they do not keep the heat insulated under the mattress.
