Whimsical? Magical? Excessive? Unsafe? Will young girls appreciate this Haba Garden Chalet Twin Bed? Made from Germany, the idea to this bed is inspired by fairy tales and princesses.
If you’d like to get rid of the frills though, the bed has a simpler version in this one:
It doesn’t look as exciting, no? But it looks safer than the other style.

Beds and Furniture made from Recycled Paper
0 Comments Published by Lilian August 4th, 2008 in MATTRESS Frame, MATTRESS Organic.![]()
On first look, you wouldn’t think this bed and shelf were made from recycled paper, would you? These furniture and a few other designs make use of Zboards, which is in fact an eco-friendly, paper based recyclable product from Waybasics. No trees have been chopped down to make these.
You’re probably wondering how sturdy these sets are. Waybasic says Zboards are
are constructed through our patented process and are made from multiple, overlapping layers of paperboard and corrugated paper that combine to withstand tremendous pressure. For instance, our founder weighs 185 pounds and when he stands on our Cube it can easily bear his enormous weight. Way Basics furniture can hold a small library of books when it’s reinforced with additional vertical zBoards. For example, we recommend placing no more than 80 pounds on our Rectangle horizontal zBoard surfaces, but it can bear up to 200 pounds when reinforced with an additional vertical zBoard.
If you’d like to try one yourself, pay their design studio a visit.

Turn Your Milk Crate into Furniture
1 Comment Published by Lilian August 3rd, 2008 in MATTRESS DIY, MATTRESS FUN, MATTRESS Frame.Milk crates seem to be the stuff college furniture is made out of. It’s a big help to the environment as the crates are recycled for better use. Although, when one thinks of milk crate, tacky furniture comes to mind.
Well, I bet you never thought they could look as attractive and as trendy as these below, huh?

These design ideas come from Apartment Therapy and I know one of these days, someone is bound to make a bed topped with a mattress off it. In fact, someone may already be doing so!

Changing the look of your bedroom is fast and easy with this modular bed designed by Sweden’s Marcia Hanvey Isakson. It allows for either two separate beds or one bed for couples without leaving the room cluttered from all the rearranging. Works great as a guest bed, too.

The Cloudlift bed is an Asian inspired furniture that is made to fit a Western lifestyle. It’s basically a good marriage of “Asian symbology and Arts and Crafts simplicity” because what we have here is obviously one beautiful furniture piece.
Available in Full, Queen, and Cal King sizes. And because it’s meticulously crafted and designed, this bed is valued at $6,900.
