‘Got Milk?’ Style Ads from Mattress Makers
0 Comments Published by Lilian March 22nd, 2008 in Interesting Mattress, MATTRESS Business, MATTRESS News.
Mattress promotion is kicking into high gear as ISPA and a handful of mattress makers prepare for a more solid marketing campaign to tap a broader market.
This campaign would have amount to millions of dollars, but bedding companies are willing to shell out funds in order to proceed with this. The campaign will be similar to the famous Got Milk? Ads.
“All of our research points to the fact that consumers understand the importance of sleep to their overall health and well-being,” Eitel said. “We need to demonstrate the key role new mattresses play in the equation and we need to work shoulder-to-shoulder with our mattress retail partners to get the word to consumers. … However, in order for such a campaign to be fair to all it cannot allow ‘free riders,’ Simmons will support this effort only if 75 percent of the industry, based on dollar value, supports the campaign and all are involved in ISPA as members.”

Video: Stylution mattress making process
0 Comments Published by Lilian March 20th, 2008 in MATTRESS Business, MATTRESS Video. This is quite an interesting video of a mattress company in China, called Stylution. Big, big factory I should say! Clean and very organized, too. The company has been in operation since 1973. They make mostly coiled mattresses and gather raw materials from all over the world.

Keetsa Mattress on The View
2 Comments Published by Lilian March 20th, 2008 in MATTRESS Business, MATTRESS News, MATTRESS Shopping.Apparently, Keetsa, the mattress store with a blog site running on the same network as Mattresszine, has been featured in the TV talk show, The View, the other day. According to the Groovy Vegetarian, the women of The View were discussing about companies embracing the green concept using regular household items in their products, and that Keetsa green-tea mattress was one of their featured items.

I failed to watch the episode but there’s a Youtube clip saved of it:
Incidentally, the store just opened another branch in Fairfield, California. It’s the store’s 2nd in what? Less than 9 months? Congratulations, Keetsa!

Different mattresses for different customers
0 Comments Published by Lilian March 19th, 2008 in MATTRESS Business, MATTRESS News.Ever wonder why there’s so many mattress stores and choices out there? You might think it’s just a bed or that there isn’t
anything more simpler than a bed purchase but as it has been shared in this site so many times — different types of bed work for different types of people. So we’ve got piles and piles of mattresses all with different features, as well as a number of stores selling or not selling one type of feature.
Here’s what Mattress Barn, a company in the mattress business for over 23 years, has to say about that:
Todd O’Hagan has been selling mattresses for 15 years. And he has learned a basic truth: Different consumers need different beds. One size does not fit all in the world of mattress retailing.
“There is no best bed for everybody,” O’Hagan said the other day at the Mattress Barn store here, where he is the manager. “If there was, we wouldn’t need 50 beds on our floor.”
