It may be unlikely one finds a child’s bed in a pet store. But perhaps because keeping a child’s bed clean and dry also needs the same effort as when taking care of a pet’s sleeping space (perhaps even more), finding it in a pet store is logical.

For a moment, I mistook it for an elegant bed tray but this is actually a cat’s bed. The base is acrylic and the mattress cushion is made from odor-resistant, water-resistant nylon quality foam. The cover comes in fashionable colors and it is also reversible and machine washable.

A V-Shaped Bed For Restful Sleep?
0 Comments Published by Lilian January 24th, 2008 in Interesting Mattress, MATTRESS Business, MATTRESS Frame, MATTRESS Shopping.
There’s nothing wrong with this bed. It was crafted exactly like that, with the middle part scooping down. In the 1930’s, this bed was introduced as a way to support the body for better sleep and circulation. When not in use, it reverts back to its regular form. Pulling a chain from underneath it will collapse the middle part, to reveal the V-shape.
I guess the pitch didn’t pan out, for we no longer see a V-shaped bed these days, huh?

Bed Retailer in NZ Fined For False Advertising
0 Comments Published by Lilian January 24th, 2008 in MATTRESS Business.A bed store with distributorship at Auckland, Hamilton, New Plymouth, Palmerston North, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin has been fined $26,400 by the Commerce Commission in New Zealand for putting products up on sale, claiming mark down prices, when these were in fact their regular prices.
Advek Holdings, trading as Back to Bed, was found guilty in Christchurch District Court on Monday of breaching the Fair Trading Act 12 times. Commerce Commission chairwoman Paula Rebstock said the retailer had advertised beds as being on sale when they were actually being sold for the usual price.
“Retailers that make misleading claims about the nature of sales not only harm consumers, they undermine the competitive process. Advertising sale prices that are no cheaper than every day prices can put [retailers] in breach of the Fair Trading Act.”
Advek Holdings ran an extensive campaign advertising beds at special prices in newspapers and on the radio between November 2004 and June 2005.
The advertisements claimed that consumers could make “massive savings” and that the retailer had “slashed prices” and offered specific percentages off the “normal” prices of its beds.
